Batuhan Begimgil

Batuhan Begimgil was born on 4 September 1991 in Istanbul, the only child in his family; his father is a mechanical engineer and industrialist, his mother a homemaker. He earned his university degree from the English-language Civil Engineering program at Istanbul Kültür University. Alongside this, he had been drawn to acting since childhood: at age 6 he took part in summer children's theatre activities and animated shows, later receiving formal acting training. He gained wide recognition for the role of Burak in the popular youth series "Medcezir" (2013–2014), alongside Çağatay Ulusoy and Hazar Ergüçlü. In 2015 he appeared in the film "Nadide Hayat" alongside Demet Akbağ — a collaboration he has described as one of the happiest moments of his career. In 2016 he took on the role of Kutay in the Fox TV series "Rüzgarın Kalbi." He earned a civil engineering degree and even completed a construction-site internship before ultimately choosing acting as his profession. He has joked that he studied engineering to prove something to a family of engineers before pursuing what he really wanted. On his personal website he humorously describes himself as an "Actor / Civil Engineer / Entrepreneur / Traveller / Ordinary Werewolf." He has a pet dog.
