Biography

Erdem Şenocak was born on 28 February 1980 in the Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar Province. He graduated from the Industrial Engineering department of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) and earned a master's degree in Dramaturgy and Theatre Criticism at Istanbul University. He began his acting career in 1998 in the university's theatre club; after graduating he balanced engineering work with theatre for a time before dedicating himself to acting. On stage he has performed in "Yolculuk" (1999), Friedrich Dürrenmatt's "Babil'e Bir Melek İniyor" (2000), Molière's "Gülünç Kibarlar" (2001), "Ben, Pierre Rivière" (2006), and "Vaiz" (2007). From 2005 he worked at İTÜ MT in the Seyyar Sahne group, and from 2006 as an instructor and director at Bilgi Sahnesi. Together with Celal Mordeniz he founded the Tiyatro Medresesi in Şirince. His acting style is influenced by the "poor theatre" concept of Polish theorist Jerzy Grotowski. He made his film debut as Murat in "Anons" (2017). He appeared in the films "Son Çıkış" (2018), "Kerr" (2021, as Can), "İki Şafak Arasında" (2021), "Kurak Günler" (Burning Days, 2022), and "Ölü Mevsim" (Unfruitful Times, 2024, as Halil), and in the series "Hekimoğlu" (2019), "Uysallar" (2022), "Veliaht" (2025), and "The Eighth Family" (2025). For his role in "İki Şafak Arasında" he won Best Supporting Actor at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival (2021) and at the Ankara International Film Festival (2022). For "Ölü Mevsim" he won Best Actor at the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival and was nominated for the same award in Ankara (2024).
