Cherry Season

Plot: Öykü is a bright, ambitious young woman living in a modest neighborhood with a dream of becoming a top fashion designer. Since childhood, she has been secretly in love with Mete, her best friend's brother. However, Mete remains oblivious to her feelings and falls for her deceitful friend Şeyma. Öykü's life takes an unexpected turn due to a hilarious mix-up that leads her to Ayaz, a handsome, arrogant architect who happens to be Mete's best friend and business partner. Forced by circumstances to pretend that she is in love with Ayaz, Öykü finds herself caught in a fake relationship that gradually transforms into a genuine, passionate, and deeply transformative love story. Trivia: The series is an original romantic comedy produced by Süreç Film and written by Aslı Zengin. It became a massive phenomenon in Turkey and set a new standard for the rom-com genre, propelling lead actors Özge Gürel and Serkan Çayoğlu to global stardom. The show won several prestigious awards, including the Golden Butterfly Award (Altın Kelebek) for Best Romantic Comedy and Best On-Screen Couple. It was exported to over 50 countries worldwide, achieving extraordinary success in Italy (as "Cherry Season - La stagione del cuore"), where it became the first Turkish series ever broadcast during daytime television on Canale 5. Notably, the fairytale romance between the lead actors Özge Gürel and Serkan Çayoğlu transcended the screen—after dating for several years following the show, they got officially married in 2022.
