Respect

(The series is a highly anticipated spin-off of the legendary Turkish crime drama "Behzat Ç.", focusing on the dark philosophy of its most iconic anti-hero). The series centers on Ercüment Çözer, a brilliant, immensely wealthy, and sociopathic businessman who lives by a strict personal code. He believes that the decay of modern society is rooted in one fundamental issue: a lack of respect. Infuriated by everyday rudeness, domestic abuse, systemic corruption, and the legal system's failure to punish offenders, Ercüment acts as a self-appointed judge, jury, and executioner. He kidnaps those who cross his boundaries of "respect" and subjects them to intense psychological rehabilitation or fatal punishment in his private torture chambers. Ercüment's solitary crusade takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Savaş and Helen, two rebellious young university students. Having suffered deep personal trauma and disillusioned by police stagnation, Savaş and Helen decide to take matters into their own hands, initiating a violent wave of vigilante justice against abusers and criminals in Istanbul. Intrigued by their raw passion but critical of their chaotic methods, Ercüment steps into the shadows as their mysterious mentor. He seeks to refine their anger and teach them his methodical philosophy of respect. Spanning two intense seasons, "Saygı" is a dark, gripping psychological thriller that explores the heavy consequences of taking the law into one's own hands, corporate moral decays, and the terrifying line between delivering justice and becoming a monster.
