"Uzak Şehir" and "Leyla" nominated for the 2026 Emmys

On September 23, 2026, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 2026 International Emmy Awards. This year, 64 nominees from 22 countries are competing across 16 categories.

In the Best Telenovela category, Turkey is represented by two series from Ay Yapım — "Uzak Şehir" (Far Away), starring Sinem Ünsal and Ozan Akbaba, and "Leyla," starring Cemre Baysel and Alperen Duymaz.

The Turkish entries' competitors in this category are the Brazilian series "Garota do Momento" (Globo) and the second season of the Spanish series "Valle Salvaje" (Studio Canal).

The award ceremony will take place on November 23, 2026, in New York. Last year, the same category was won by the Turkish series "Deha," starring Aras Bulut İynemli and Melis Sezen — the only Turkish win at the 53rd Emmy ceremony.
