Beloved

Plot: Aziz Korkmazer is a ruthless, pragmatic businessman managing his family's massive corporate empire with an iron fist. His structured world begins to crumble after he gets entangled in a mysterious crime and encounters Feride Çağlar, an honest and resilient young woman who works tirelessly to support her humble family. Their paths are inexorably connected through a rare antique board game called "Satranc-ı Urefa" (Chess of the Gnostics), introduced by the enigmatic antiquarian Abdullah. Guided by the spiritual teachings embedded within the game, Aziz embarks on a profound journey of self-discovery, confronting long-buried family sins and seeking the true meaning of reunion and divine love ("vuslat") alongside Feride. Trivia: Produced by A23 Medya for Turkey's national public broadcaster TRT 1, "Vuslat" (*Beloved*) ran for 2 seasons across 44 episodes between 2019 and 2020. The series was directed by Murat Onbul and Barış Yöş. Starring Kadir Doğulu as Aziz and Devrim Özkan as Feride, the production served as a major career milestone for Devrim Özkan, launching her into mainstream leading roles. A key differentiator of the show was its deep integration of Sufi mysticism and classical Eastern philosophy, setting it apart from traditional Turkish melodramas through its layered spiritual symbolism and moral allegories.
